After multiple lengthly telephone conversations with HP Tech Support; I am being told that the HP lt Snapdragon X5 LTE Modem in my HP EliteBook G3 on the AT&T. Use HP Connection Manager 3.x to set up a 3G WWAN Mobile Broadband connection.

Application Settings - Mobile Broadband tab Since you have chosen a listed provider, the connection manager already has a profile that contains the cellular provider's name, a user name, password, and IP addresses. Select your preferred Activation Method, and then click Next: Activation Method Online Self Activation allows you to set up your account and activate your notebook through your cellular provider's website.

One Touch Automatic Provisioning allows you to activate an account already set up. You can also obtain this information by calling your cellular provider. General Settings Click Close to save your settings.
You are returned to the main screen, and the Activate option has changed to Connect. Mobile Broadband has changed to Connect Click the Connect button to connect to your cellular provider. You should now be connected to your cellular provider using WWAN.
If you cannot connect to your HP ProBook 640 G2 Qualcomm LTE Modem provider, continue to the next section titled Create a profile and connect to an unlisted cellular provider or contact your cellular provider for further assistance. Create a profile and connect to an unlisted cellular provider If you are connecting to a cellular provider that is not listed, you will need to enter some extra configuration information to create a profile. On the Mobile Broadband tab, click Select Provider to display the list of listed cellular providers.
Click Profile, and then click Add to create a new cellular provider profile. Enter the information received from your provider: New cellular provider profile Click the Advanced pane to verify that the default Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically options are selected. If your cellular provider has provided information for a different IP address or DNS server address, select the Use the following IP address and Use the following DNS server address options, and enter that information manually into each field.

Click Finish to save your settings in the profile. Click the Connection settings pane to verify that the Roaming and Data Network options are set to the default Auto value.
Connection settings Click the General Settings pane to verify that the default Power off on exit and Power on upon launch options are selected. If you cannot connect to your cellular provider, see section titled Troubleshooting the WWAN signal on this page or contact your cellular provider for further assistance. Verify that you have at least 2 or 3 signal strength bars to ensure a strong enough signal to connect to the Internet.
